News Release
The Washburn County Highway Department, on behalf of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), is planning to seal cracks on US 63 from the Barron County line to County B northeast of Shell Lake from Monday through Thursday, July 6 to 9, and July 13 to 16.
Crack sealing is an effective method to help keep water from intruding into the granular base of a roadway, reducing the potential for premature distress of the pavement. The goal is to extend serviceable life of the roadway.
During crack-filling operations, the road will be open to through traffic.
Motorists are advised to travel with caution and expect filling operations between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m., or they might want to consider taking an alternate route.
Schedules are dependent on weather conditions and are subject to change.
