Former Rice Lake Man Sentenced to 20-Years for Sexual Assault of Children

BARRON WI -- Eric Strong, formerly of Rice Lake, WI, and most recently residing in Wheeler WI, received a prison sentence of twenty years in Barron County Circuit Court on Thursday, February 2, 2017, for a conviction of 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child Under the Age of 13.

Strong also was convicted of Repeated Sexual Assault of a Child and received a sentence of ten years in state prison for that conviction.

The Court ordered that Strong's sentences shall be served concurrently – meaning that Strong will serve both prison sentences at the same time.

According to public record, a two-day jury trial was held in November on Strong's charges. After approximately three hours of deliberations, the jury returned guilty verdicts on both charges against Strong.

The sexual assaults of the two female victims occurred over a two year period between May of 2010 and May of 2013.

Strong will be on extended supervision by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for 20 years after his release from state prison and will be required to register for life as a sex offender.
