BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) -- A criminal complaint was filed on Friday against Darryl Hanson, age 71, of Danbury, WI, following the completion of a lengthy multi-agency law enforcement investigation into an officer-involved shooting incident that occurred on July 2, 2022, in Burnett County.

On July 22, 2022, Burnett County District Attorney James Rennicke issued a letter announcing that the Officer’s actions were reasonable during the incident and commending their “bravery and steadfast devotion to service to the community.”

Hanson is facing over a dozen criminal charges including Felony Recklessly Endangering Safety, Intentionally Point Firearm at a Law Enforcement Officer, Operating a Firearm While Intoxicated, and Endanger Safety/Use/Dangerous Weapon.
