POLK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - Charges of 1st Degree Murder have been filed against Mary Josephine Bailey, age 80, following a decades-long investigation into the homicide of Yvonne Menke in St, Croix Falls, WI, on December 12, 1985. Bailey was taken into custody in Maricopa County, AZ on an arrest warrant issued by Polk County authorities and awaits extradition to Wisconsin to face her charges.
A 39-page criminal complaint has been filed against Bailey in Polk County Circuit Court, detailing the investigation into the incident, and the subsequent investigative efforts that were made throughout the 3 decades since the murder.
