SPOONER, WI — The Spooner Area School District Board of Education has announced the selection of Dr. Margaret M. Banker as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools. Pending a successful background check and contract negotiations, Dr. Banker is set to assume their new role at the start of the next school year, according to a press release from SASD.

Following weeks of gathering information, soliciting applicants, vetting applicants, and an in depth interview process, the Board of Education has made our selection for our next Superintendent of Schools for the Spooner Area School District.
Pending a successful background check and contract negotiation, we can proudly announce that Dr. Margaret M. Banker will assume superintendent duties for our district beginning with our next school year. Dr. Banker possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as the ability to bring many viewpoints and ideas together to focus on our goal of making the Spooner Area School District the best place for our children to obtain their education.
I want to thank members of our community as well as our school staff for providing much appreciated input into our decision.
Additional thanks go out to Mayor Gary Cuskey and SES Principal Chris Berghammer for facilitating the community and staff interview process as well as SHS Principal Pete Schroeder for conducting tours of our facilities for our prospective candidates.
