Driver Arrested For 6th Offense OWI After Crashing Into A Tree

BARRON COUNTY - A man has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 6th offense, following a single-vehicle crash near Rice Lake yesterday.

On Sunday, November 8, 2020, at approximately 5:45p, a vehicle traveling south on 18th Street west of Rice Lake, left the roadway and struck a tree, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol. A Trooper responded to the scene shortly thereafter to assist.

A subsequent investigation including standard field sobriety tests were conducted and the driver, Jack G Kurschinsky, 59, from Barron, WI, was arrested for operating while under the influence of an intoxicant 6th offense.



"Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty."
