NORTHWEST WISCONSIN — It’s hard to believe, but on October 1, 2015, DrydenWire published its first stories.
At the time, we had no idea what DrydenWire would become. The goal was pretty simple: create a local news source that did things a little differently and give people another place to find news, information, and conversations about the communities around us.
Eleven years later, we’re still here.
A lot has changed since 2015. DrydenWire has grown, our coverage has expanded, and the way people consume news has changed dramatically. We’ve added live video, longer conversations, new features, and plenty of things we probably never would have imagined when we started.
We’ve also made plenty of mistakes along the way. We've learned from them, tried new things, and continued to figure it out as we go.
That's really what these 11 years have been about.
Trying.
Learning.
And continuing to show up.
Most importantly, we’re grateful for the people who have made DrydenWire possible.
Thank you to our readers, Insider subscribers, advertisers, contributors, and everyone who has ever sent us a story tip, shared a story, watched a live video, or simply stopped by DrydenWire to see what was happening.
We don't take any of it for granted.
Eleven years is a long time for a small, locally owned news organization, and we're thankful to still be doing what we set out to do back in 2015.
So, happy 11th birthday to DrydenWire.
Thanks for being along for the ride.
And now, back to work.
