Ellsworth Man Arrested For Operating Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated, 7th Offense

ST. CROIX COUNTY - A 71-year-old Ellsworth, WI man has been arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, 7th offense, according to an OWI News Release from the Wisconsin State Patrol, Eau Claire Post.

(News Release) - Thomas Michael O’Shaughnessy, 71 years of age, from Ellsworth, WI has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 7th offense.

At approximately 9:28 PM on Thursday night, a Wisconsin State Trooper stopped a vehicle on Interstate 94 for a traffic lane deviation violation. The driver was identified as Thomas M. O’Shaughnessy.

A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that Mr. O’Shaughnessy was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Mr. O’Shaughnessy was arrested and transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test of his blood and then to the St. Croix County Jail. He is being charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated 7th offense and for operating with a revoked driver’s license.

"Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty."
