UPDATE: 57-Year Old Male in Critical Condition Following Single-Vehicle Rollover

On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at 7:58 a.m., the Barron County Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call of a one vehicle roll over on Hwy 63 just north of Turtle Lake.

Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Turtle Lake Police Department, Turtle Lake Fire Department, Cumberland Fire Department, Barron County First Responders, Cumberland Ambulance and the North Memorial Helicopter all responded to the scene.

Upon arrival a 57-yr old male was extricated from the vehicle and flown to North Memorial hospital in MN in critical condition.

The name of the individual is being withheld pending notification of the family. The initial report contributes drugs and speed as factors to the cause of this crash. Hwy 63 was closed for about 1 hour.

At 8:03 AM, emergency personnel responded to 1426 Hwy 63 in Turtle Lake for a single vehicle rollover accident with entrapment. Highway 63 was closed in both directions for approximately 20 minutes as the driver was loaded onto a North Memorial AirCare helicopter. The driver was extricated from the vehicle by Turtle Lake Fire Department and flown to a regional trauma center. All lanes have been reopened at this time.
