SPOONER, WI — Former Wisconsin State Representative Erik Severson, a Republican and one of two declared candidates for Wisconsin’s 25th Senate District, will be the featured guest on DrydenWire Live! with Ben Dryden on Tuesday, October 28th at 8:30a.
The live show will stream on DrydenWire’s Facebook page and YouTube channel, with the full recording available later in the day on DrydenWire.com.
This unscripted and in-depth interview is expected to run about 45 minutes, giving viewers an opportunity to get to know Severson not just as a political candidate, but as a person — exploring his motivations, values, and perspective on key issues affecting Northwest Wisconsin.
Severson, who previously served two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly, announced his campaign for the 25th Senate District earlier this month. The seat became open after Senator Romaine Quinn announced his bid for re-election in the 23rd Senate District.
During his time in the Assembly, Severson supported legislation including Act 10, concealed carry, voter ID reforms, and limits on abortion. He also served as Chair of the Assembly Committee on Health, authoring measures to improve funding for ATV/UTV trails, expand mental health services, and streamline bear hunting licensure.
“I’m proud of the work my colleagues and I achieved during my first two terms in the Wisconsin legislature, but there is more work to be done,” Severson said when announcing his campaign. “I will stand up and protect our personal liberties and freedoms and look forward to getting out into the community to hear from people and businesses here in the 25th District about the challenges they face every day.”
Severson enters the race alongside Angie Sapik, the other announced candidate for the 25th Senate seat.
He currently boasts endorsements from several prominent conservative figures, including former U.S. Congressman and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, former State Senator Sheila Harsdorf, State Senator Rob Stafsholt, State Representative Duke Tucker, Polk County Sheriff Brent Waak, and former Representatives Adam Jarchow, Gae Magnafici, and John Murtha.
A devoted family man, Severson and his wife Katie have been married for 25 years and are parents to three children. The 25th Senate District covers much of Northwestern Wisconsin, stretching from Polk County north to Superior and east to Hurley.
Tune in Tuesday morning at 8:30a for this exclusive conversation with Erik Severson.
