On Sunday, February 11, at 2:00 PM, Faith in Action - Washburn County will host its 13th annual Valentine Vignette benefit concert at Spooner Wesleyan Church. Faith in Action is a 501 C-3 non-profit organization that has been providing supportive services to local senior adults in need through a network of caring volunteers, businesses, and organizations since 2004.
Longtime emcees Larry Neste and Mike Bitney will host our variety showcase of outstanding local talent. We have already confirmed many performers, including Carl Peters, Carol McDowall and the Second Wind String Band, Gary and Dawn Smith, Hershey Boy’s Bluegrass, Kurt Kunkel, Spooner High School Select Choir, Spooner High School with song previews from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, St. Francis de Sales middle school with song previews from Lion King, Jr., Tam Smith, Trinity Lutheran Singers, and Reverend Jack Starr.
A free-will offering will benefit the mission of FIA to help broaden the scope of volunteer services, which are all provided free of charge to seniors in Washburn County. Silent auction items include gift certificates to many local businesses, a teeth-whitening session, and a variety of gift baskets. After the talent showcase, you are invited to stay for Jan Masterjohn’s famous cookies!
We extend our gratitude to the 2018 Valentine Vignette Gold Business Sponsors: Spooner Health and Schmitz’s Economart; and Silver Business Sponsors: C & J Body Shop, Greenfield Physical Therapy, Northview Eye Associates, Shell Lake State Bank, Spooner Funeral Home, and Tim Reedy – State Farm Insurance.
