Amber Jasper, of Rice Lake, WI, has been charged in Barron County Circuit Court with Class I Felony Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer after an April 17, 2017, incident in which she led officers on an early morning high-speed pursuit.

The Barron County Sheriff's Department issued a press release later that day (see below) which stated that Jasper failed to obey a traffic officer who was investigating a motor vehicle crash. Deputies attempted to stop Jasper's vehicle, however, she fled from the squad car through the Village of Cameron, WI, and on into the City of Rice Lake, WI, reportedly traveling at speeds over 95 miles per hour at times. Officers lost contact with her vehicle, however, a short time later a Rice Lake Police Officer spotted Jasper's vehicle traveling back towards the Village of Cameron and another pursuit was initiated. According to the press release, Jasper lost control of her vehicle south of Cameron, WI and came to a stop in a ditch.

Jasper is charged with Class I Felony Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer as well as 1st Offense Operating While Intoxicated along with multiple traffic violation citations.

Public record shows that on April 19, 2017, a separate criminal complaint was filed against Jasper in Barron County Circuit Court charging her with Class I Felony Possession of Methamphetamine, stemming from an offense date of November 29, 2016. Details of that case are not known at this time.

Jasper appeared on April 19 on her charges and according to public record, Judge James Babler set a $500 cash bond. As of April 26, Jasper remained in custody and is scheduled to appear again on July 12, 2017.
