WASHBURN COUNTY — A Washburn County man is facing a felony theft charge after authorities allege he used company credit cards to make nearly $30,000 in unauthorized personal purchases over several months.

According to a criminal complaint, the investigation began after a Spooner, WI, business discovered suspicious transactions, ultimately leading law enforcement to recover numerous items allegedly purchased with the company cards, including a side-by-side UTV, trailers, a zero-turn mower, and other equipment. Layne Olson (22) of Sarona, WI, is now charged in Washburn County Circuit Court with Felony Theft.
