POLK COUNTY -- A two-vehicle crash occurred this afternoon near Turtle Lake, WI closing County Highway T for an hour, according to Turtle Lake Police Chief Al Gabe.
An elderly female driver was transported to Amery Hospital for medical care. The other driver was treated at the scene and released.
A Chevrolet Yukon was traveling northbound on State Highway 63 and was going to continue north on County Highway T, however, as the Yukon was crossing State Highway 8 a silver car that was west bound on State Highway 8 struck the passenger side of the Yukon. The Yukon spun around and the silver car went into the northwest corner ditch.
One male was extricated from the Yukon and after being checked out by the ambulance crew was released at the scene.
The elderly female driver of the car was not trapped in the car and was transported by ambulance to Amery Hospital.
Turtle Lake Fire Department, Turtle Lake First Responders, Turtle Lake Police Department, Polk County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, and Cumberland and Barron Ambulances responded to the scene. County Highway T was closed for an hour.
Names of the vehicle occupants are not being released at this time.
A crash report will be completed by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
