BURNETT COUNTY — A months-long drug investigation in Danbury, WI, culminated in a December 2025 raid that uncovered more than 65 grams of methamphetamine inside an Airfield Road home, and launched five felony court cases in Burnett County Circuit Court.
Following preliminary hearings this week, the Hon. Judge Melissia Mogen dismissed the cases against Marvin Garbow of Danbury, WI, Grace Smith of Sandstone, MN, and Jordan Tatum of St. Paul, MN, after hearing testimony from law enforcement and arguments from both the defense and prosecutors.
However, at last check, the criminal cases against homeowner Margaret Johnson, also known as “Cookie”, and Roberta “Berta” Matrious, formerly of Sandstone, MN, remain active and are proceeding through the court system.
