'Focus on the Faculty': Katrina Granzin

Today on “Focus on the Faculty” we have our 7-12 Health and Physical Education teacher, Katrina Granzin. Katrina also coaches Cross Country and Track. She is a Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor for the Health Care Provider and Professional Rescuer.

Katrina is from Shell Lake and went to College at UW River Falls. She has worked in the school district both part and full time for about 9 years now, and has coached that whole time. Her and her Husband, Jonathan, have 3 daughters, Brooke, Elana and Addeline. Both Katrina and Jonathan’s parents and siblings live in and around the Shell Lake area and they feel blessed to be able to spend lots of time with them.
Some of Katrina’s hobbies are camping, swimming, playing games and just having fun with her family.
When asked, as a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? She answered, “I wanted to be a teacher, a gym teacher to be precise.”
The teacher she remembers most from school is her physical education teacher and track coach because she always believed the best in her.
What does she love most about working at the Shell Lake School District? She said, “I am able to enjoy playing and interacting with the students, while teaching them things they can take with them. They can be smarter than me, richer than me and live longer and have a more fulfilled life than I will, and I hope to live to be over 101.” Thank you Katrina, for keeping our students #ShellLakeStrong!
