Former Hayward Radio Station News Director Sentenced On Charges Of Soliciting 17-Year-Old

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN -- Former News Director for Hayward Radio Station WRLS, Scott Klohn, has been sentenced in Washington-Stillwater Minnesota District Court on his Felony charges of Prostitution-Hire or Agree to Hire 16-17 Yr Old.

DrydenWire.com reported in September 2018 that Klohn was facing charges after law enforcement in Washington County, MN received a complaint that Klohn had solicited sex from a 17-year-old male in exchange for cash while at a fitness center in Woodbury, MN.

Klohn exposed himself to a 17-year-old male and also asked the male if Klohn could touch him in exchange for cash according to the criminal complaint filed against Klohn. The male left the center and reported the incident to law enforcement.

A trial was scheduled to be held on the case filed against Klohn, however at a hearing in July 2019, Klohn entered a plea of Guilty to his charge.

At a hearing on October 9, 2019, the Court ordered a stayed sentence of 365 days confinement in County Jail. Klohn was also ordered to serve 3 years of probation.

Conditions of Klohn’s probation will require him to attend a sex offender program and complete treatment at the Duluth Institute.

Klohn will also be prohibited from having any unsupervised contact with either male or female minors or vulnerable adults, unless/until approved by Klohn’s supervising probation officer and/or sex offender therapist.
