Simeth moved to Spooner when he was six, and lived there until he completed homeschooling and began attending The Art Institutes International Minnesota, where he got a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. After graduating from college, he lived in Spooner again briefly, until 2006, when he moved to Los Angeles. His first job was at Luma Pictures, where he has now worked for ten years, and has risen to an associate VFX supervisor.

The award nomination is particularly touching for Jared and other members of his team, because the visual effects society that nominated him, is made up of professional peers. Of the commercial, Jared says “the whole team did a great job” and that to be “nominated and to be listed personally is a great honor.” Jared explains that being nominated for outstanding visual effects in a commercial means more than just how good the effects are, though that does play a large factor in getting nominated, and also encompasses the amount of visual effects that are used. He goes on to say that Coke Mini; A Mini Marvel is loaded with visual effects, and most shots “include fully CG animated characters of ant-man or the hulk” in addition to the visual effects layered into the landscape and buildings.

While Jared is thrilled to have received the nomination, he is also quick to note that work on the commercial, as well as visual effects work in general, are “very time consuming” and are “a team effort.” This award nomination is another step in Jared’s rather successful career, as he has put work into notable productions like Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Dr. Strange, True Grit, and No Country for Old Men. Of Jared’s current projects, he has been able to tell us he's involved with Alien Covenant and Spiderman: Homecoming. Hopefully, more awesome visual effects from Jared and his team will be on screens for the public’s amazement soon.
