RUSK COUNTY — A woman who was employed as a Ladysmith, WI, elementary school teacher has pleaded guilty to a felony charge stemming from allegations that she sent an inappropriate video to a student under the age of 16 and later urged the child not to tell anyone.
Kayla Vavra, 28, was charged in Rusk County Circuit Court after the case was brought to law enforcement by a report from school district officials, prompting an investigation that led to her arrest.
Vavra appeared for a plea and sentencing hearing on August 28, 2026.
