(Release) Stacy Lenorud, 37, Mauston, Wis., a former Special Investigative Services Technician at the Federal Correctional Institution at Oxford, Wis. (FCI-Oxford), pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Madison to bringing marijuana into FCI-Oxford, and to conspiring with others to introduce tobacco, pornography, and other prohibited items into FCI-Oxford. As part of her guilty plea, Lenorud also admitted to having a sexual relationship with an inmate while employed by FCI-Oxford.
As part of her plea, Lenorud admitted that in the spring of 2013, she smuggled approximately one ounce of marijuana into the prison to deliver to an inmate identified as R.B. Lenorud resigned from employment at FCI-Oxford in August 2013. Lenorud admitted that both before and after her resignation, she conspired with others to bring tobacco, food, clothing, and pornography into FCI-Oxford.
On the combined charges, Lenorud faces maximum penalties of up to 5 ½ years in prison, and up to $255,000 in fines.
The charges against Lenorud are the result of an investigation by the Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General, with the cooperation of FCI-Oxford. The prosecution of this case is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Burke.
