BAYFIELD, WI – Fred Clark, former Wisconsin State Legislator, today announced his candidacy for Congress in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District with the release of a 2 minute video.
“We’re all starting to pay more for the things we need because this Congress refused to stop an insane tariff war against our best trading partners and unbelievably, they just voted for a massive handout to billionaires that will add $3.4 trillion to our national debt while taking health care away from 270 thousand Wisconsinites who need it the most, leaving the rest of us to pay more for health care that’s just getting worse,” says Clark in the video.
Clark has lived and worked in Wisconsin for more than 35 years. As a forester and small business owner, he has built a career rooted in sustainable land management and conservation.
He served as a State Legislator, where he was recognized for his bipartisan work and dedication to protecting Wisconsin’s natural resources, supporting public education, and strengthening rural communities.
The 7th Congressional District, which spans much of northern and central Wisconsin, is a region Clark knows well. His announcement comes on the first day of another federal government shutdown. “This is absurd,” says Clark. “This Congress is failing at even their most basic responsibilities. And while the government shuts down again, Republicans are sitting at home, and northern Wisconsin families are paying the price. It’s time for a change.”
