SPOONER, WI (DrydenWire) — Fred Clark, a former Wisconsin State Legislator and Democratic candidate for Congress in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, joined DrydenWire founder Ben Dryden Tuesday morning for a live, unscripted conversation as part of the ongoing ‘DrydenWire Live!’ series.
The discussion streamed live on DrydenWire’s Facebook page and followed the show’s familiar long-form, conversational format. The episode was not a traditional interview and featured no prewritten questions, with topics driven by Clark and questions submitted by viewers during the broadcast.
Clark announced his campaign for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District in October 2025. A forester and small business owner, Clark has lived and worked in Wisconsin for more than 35 years and has built his career around sustainable land management, conservation, and support for rural communities.
During the conversation, Clark discussed his decision to run for Congress, concerns about rising costs for families, federal spending, and what he described as dysfunction in Washington. He also spoke about his experience serving as a Wisconsin State Legislator, where he was known for bipartisan work on conservation, public education, and strengthening rural communities.
Clark lives in Bayfield, Wisconsin, and shared how his professional background and personal experiences have shaped his views on public service and representation for northern and central Wisconsin.
Viewers were invited to participate throughout the live broadcast by submitting questions and comments.
