Free Child Care Foundational Training Courses Offered By Northwood Tech This Fall

Northwood Tech is proud to announce that a generous grant by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) has provided funding for enrollment in free Child Care Foundational Training courses for the 2022-23 academic year. These are four basic, foundational courses commonly required to obtain state or county certification or licensing to work in a childcare setting. Course completion is posted to a student’s file on the Wisconsin Registry.

The four courses being offered for free this fall include:

  • Intro to Child Care Profession
  • Fundamentals Family Childcare
  • Fundamentals Infant & Toddler Care
  • Skills and Strategies for Child Care Teacher

The first course, Intro to Child Care Profession, begins September 19 and courses are sequential throughout the fall semester. Three out of the four courses are offered in a hybrid format, using Blackboard for the online portion and BlueJeans for the mandatory webinar/online live class sessions. Students must have access to high-speed internet, and a laptop or computer with a supported web browser and Microsoft Word. Fundamentals Family Child Care is an in-person course that will be held on October 22 at the New Richmond Campus
