SPOONER -- Matt Hagen, our Physical Therapy Assistant, had the chance to meet with the Spooner Garden Club this week.  As they prepare for the upcoming gardening season, he talked with them about proper body mechanics and stretching.

He shared the 9 Tips to Avoid Aches and Pains While Gardening. They talked about proper lifting techniques, carrying techniques, tool utilization, and stretching.  Matt stressed the importance of taking breaks to alleviate pain from overuse.

The group finished up with practicing some of the stretches they should do prior to and during their upcoming time in their gardens.  The ladies stated that they felt this information was very beneficial in preparation for their Spring season.
