BURNETT COUNTY — Two people charged after authorities uncovered a drug laboratory inside a former downtown bar in Grantsburg have now entered guilty pleas in Burnett County Circuit Court, resolving their cases just days before jury trials were set to begin.

Laura Chamberlin, 52, and Zachary Chaffee, 37, were initially charged following a March 2025 eviction at the former Red Stag Saloon on Main Street, where authorities discovered a suspected DMT extraction operation, along with methamphetamine, marijuana, firearms, and drug paraphernalia.

After being bound over for trial last spring, both Chaffee and Chamberlin appeared in court on February 27, 2026, and entered guilty pleas to felony charges.
