POLK COUNTY -- A school threat closed a Polk County School District today, according to a joint press release by the St. Croix Falls Police Department and the St. Croix Falls School District.
(Press Release) -- This is a joint press release from the St. Croix Falls Police Department and the St. Croix Falls School District.
There was a threat, regarding possible gun violence made to our schools today. We became aware that this was a credible threat around 7:15 a.m. While the individual who allegedly made the threat was then taken into police custody, there were some other details that we felt needed to be clarified.
To that end and in an abundance of caution, we decided it best not to have children in our schools today. As always, the district takes student safety very seriously. We believe that this was an isolated issue. At this time we have no reason to believe there will be any concerns going forward with school on Friday.
