SAWYER COUNTY -- This year Hayward Area Memorial Hospital is celebrating 65 years of serving the people of the Hayward area. Since 1953 the hospital has provided support and healthcare services and in 1970, less than 20 years later began providing senior services to the community. In honor of the anniversary HAMHWE is hosting an Anniversary Picnic on Saturday, September 8th from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on our campus.
“Earlier this year members of our staff indicated their desire to host a community picnic,” says Cherie Morgan, Marketing & Communications Director. “We decided this year is the perfect opportunity to celebrate our anniversary with the community by bringing together our staff, volunteers, the community and those who live with us at Water’s Edge.”
The picnic is free and open to the public and will include complimentary picnic food with brats contributed by Lynn’s Custom Meats and Catering, kid’s games provided by Northwest Connection Family Resources, entertainment and a pie and ice cream social sponsored by Marketplace Foods. The Hayward Lions and Hayward Rotary will also be a part of the event, by helping us set-up, cook and serve food. The picnic will be alcohol free and offer a safe and fun atmosphere for people of all ages.
“Our Community Trail Blazers Team is working hard to plan the picnic and create a fun day to thank everyone for their support in maintaining our local healthcare services,” says Morgan. “We are honored to partner with local businesses and organizations who want to support our efforts and celebrate the community.”
