Hayward Man Arrested After Domestic Disturbance Leads To Drug, Stolen Vehicle Discovery

SAWYER COUNTY — A Hayward man was arrested following a domestic disturbance investigation that led to the discovery of drugs, a stolen vehicle, and multiple felony warrants, according to a press release from the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office.

During the early morning hours of July 20, 2025, Sawyer County Deputies and LCO Police Officers investigated a domestic disturbance that occurred in the Northwoods Beach Community of the LCO Reservation. During the investigation, the possible whereabouts of the alleged suspect were discovered.

Sawyer County Deputies arrived at a location within the Northwoods Beach Community, and ultimately took the suspect into custody for the domestic disturbance and for outstanding felony warrants from both Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle the suspect was in possession of was stolen from Minnesota. During a search of the vehicle, over 25 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 70 suspected Oxycodone pills, and various items of drug paraphernalia were located.

The suspect, Daniel J. Corbine, 53, of Hayward, WI was arrested for Possession of Stolen Property, Possession w/ Intent to Distribute Schedule I or II Narcotics, Possession w/ Intent to Deliver Amphetamine, Domestic Disorderly Conduct, and Domestic Battery.

Corbine is currently being held in the Sawyer County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond as well as a probation hold and a Minnesota warrant.

You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
