SAWYER COUNTY — Sawyer County authorities say an attempt to arrest a woman with outstanding warrants quickly turned into a suspected fentanyl trafficking investigation that resulted in multiple people being detained, the seizure of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, and felony drug charges against a Hayward, WI man.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Sawyer County Circuit Court, investigators allege Adam Thayer (42) was caught shortly after he conducted a Fentanyl sale at a Town of Hayward residence. He faces multiple felony charges after law enforcement recovered suspected Fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence from his vehicle following the execution of a search warrant.
