NWS -- Additional rainfall is anticipated for a large portion of the Northland through the day Sunday, with a large swath of an additional 2 to 3” on top of what has already fallen, with some localized areas receiving higher amounts, which will lead to flash flooding.
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for much of the region, which has expanded westward.
Much of the rainfall will come in two rounds:
- late this evening and overnight, and
- Sunday afternoon and evening.
The heavy rainfall will result in at least minor flooding to roads and cause rises on area rivers and streams. Potential exists for significant flooding to occur, so those with travel plans through Monday morning should stay vigilant as some roads may be covered with water or completely washed out!
