Hit-And-Run In Barron County Leaves Injuries; Suspect Vehicle Sought

***Editor’s Note: The Barron County Sheriff’s Department reports that the vehicle and driver involved in this incident have been located.***

BARRON COUNTY — Authorities are searching for the driver of a pickup truck who allegedly fled the scene after causing a two-vehicle crash that left occupants injured and trapped inside their vehicle, according to the Barron County Sheriff’s Department.

PRESS RELEASE

On Monday, February 16th, at approximately 11:00am, there was a two car crash at Highway 8 and County Highway O (18th St). A truck traveling northbound on CTH O failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Hwy 8.

Unfortunately, blowing through the stop sign wasn't the only poor decision made by the truck driver. Instead of staying at the scene, the truck driver immediately fled the area, leaving only part of their truck grill behind.

If you were involved, or maybe you know someone who "hit a deer" yesterday, please let us know. The occupants of the vehicle who were hit did suffer some injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle. (Thank you Barron-Maple Grove Fire)

The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2003-2007 Chevy 1500, 2500 or Avalanche. If you saw a vehicle like this in that area with a smashed front end, please reach out. Thank you.
