Hockey Happenings: Bantams to State!!

Hockey Happenings: Bantams to State!!

“This is one of the best teams I’ve ever coached! They are coachable and even though they are from different communities, they have bonded together as a cohesive winning team! I enjoy coaching them because they are truly here to learn hockey, improve their skills and support each other personally. All family members involved have supported the TEAM! Thank you for all of you that have made this year something special!”

The Spooner/Cumberland Bantam Coop consists of 8 players from Cumberland and 8 players from Spooner. At the Peewee level, Cumberland and Spooner played games against each other. This year Cumberland Youth Hockey and The Spooner Area Youth Hockey Association once again came together to be able to have a Bantam team. The team cooped and has had practices and games both at Spooner and Cumberland ice hockey arenas.

Coach Freeman is quick to add that the team chose a captain from Cumberland – Carter Bickle and assistant captains from Spooner – Nick Adler and Matt Vosberg. The team has a 15-9-1 record going into this weekend’s state tournament in Sparta, WI.

Join Coach Nick Freeman, Assistant Coaches – Bill Capra and Cody Field, SAYHA, Cumberland Youth Hockey and our communities in cheering for the Spooner/Cumberland Bantams at this weekend’s WAHA State Tournament. (Click HERE to get all the updates and follow the Spooner/Cumberland Bantams)

Spooner Youth Hockey Association tries to keep costs low for everyone who wants to play hockey. Events like these help us provide FREE equipment - skates, helmets, pads - from Learn to Skate through Bantams! One of the ways we do this is through our monthly meat raffles.

It's that time again! MEAT RAFFLE SATURDAY!

In anticipation of St. Patrick's Day and Easter, our special rounds for March will feature Corned Beef with the fixings and Ham! All other meat is coming from Louie's Finer Meats, Inc. again!

Come on out to Hub's Riverbend this Saturday at 3:00!
