ICAA Receives Grant To Develop A Mobile Food Pantry

Press Release

Ladysmith, WI — Indianhead Community Action Agency, Inc. (ICAA) is one step closer to creating a mobile food pantry thanks to a generous $10,000 grant from Compeer Financial. The funds will be utilized to purchase a refrigerated truck that will bring food pantry items to smaller communities throughout six northwestern Wisconsin counties.

“This is going to make a huge impact for our community members who have transportation restrictions that make it difficult to reach our physical food pantry locations,” ICAA’s CEO, Jennifer Shearer said. “With the help of Compeer Financial, we will be able to bring the food pantry to smaller towns and villages and ensure that the individuals and families who need nutritious food can receive it.”

ICAA currently partners with or operates six food pantries throughout Burnett, Clark, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn Counties.
