News Release

LADYSMITH, Wis. -- Indianhead Community Action Agency, Inc. (ICAA) has received a generous $1,000 donation from the We Energies Foundation to help bring a new mental health program to youth throughout Rusk County. The LEO Program is an evidence-based program that focuses on teaching easy-to-use brain hacks to youth to help them increase their mental resiliency. The LEO Program has been proven to decrease instances of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation.

ICAA’s Youth Development Director, Rachel Stilwell said, “This is such an exciting opportunity because we have seen the struggles that our youth have experienced throughout the pandemic and have been searching for a way to provide support and guidance. The LEO Program is the answer to this critical need, and we are eager to begin this program. We want to say thank you to the We Energies Foundation for understanding the needs of our youth and allowing us to help further their mission by providing this much-needed mental health resource.”

After the pilot program launches in Rusk County, ICAA’s Youth Development program anticipates expanding the LEO Program to help cover additional counties that ICAA serves.
