ICAA’s Supportive Services For Veteran Families Program Brings Christmas To Local Veteran Families

Hayward and Webster, WI — ICAA Supportive Services for Veteran Families hosted its first Santa Claus is Coming to Town event on Friday, December 21, 2018. This veteran’s outreach project is very special because Santa Claus delivered Christmas gifts to our veteran’s children located in Hayward and Webster, WI.

SSVF coordinator, Edward Martin said, “the SSVF program focuses on Veterans and their families whom are homeless, and/or at risk of becoming homeless, so many do not have the means to buy Christmas presents for their children.” When Edward contacted the selected families and told them of his planned surprise, some were relieved by the news, some were silent, and others began to cry.

Christmas is supposed to be a special holiday especially for children, and no child should have to wake up on Christmas morning without a present. ICAA is extremely grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in another child’s life.
