BARRON COUNTY — On Saturday May 2 Cumberland Area Trails Alliance (CATA) is hosting an Ice Age Trail Community Celebration and Outdoor Expo at Timberland Hills. The Outdoor Expo starts at 10AM.
Cumberland and the Community of Barronett recently received the Ice Age Trail Community Designation. The purpose of this designation is to co-promote the local economy and the nearby Ice Age Trail (IAT). Hiking on the Ice Age Trail is nearby with 8 segments within 15 miles of Cumberland.
After your hike, come into town for food and beverages and check out our local shops. At the celebration on May 2nd, local dignitaries will be speaking including Sue Greenway (IAT Superior Lobe Chapter Coordinator) and Amy Lord (Community Outreach & Education Manager for the Ice Age Trail Alliance). The celebration ceremony begins at 10:30.
Outdoor Expo Featuring:
- Ice Age Trail Community Designation Ceremony (10:30)
- Talk & Walk Presentations on everything nature with Jack Nedland (Retired Barron County Forester) and Anna Demars (local master naturalist)
- Free Sugar Maple (1 year old) & Burr Oak (3 year old) tree sapling to celebrate Arbor Day
- Free use of all-terrain wheelchairs from Access Ability Wisconsin
