Iron River Man Arrested For 5th OWI

BAYFIELD COUNTY — A 68-year-old man from Iron River has been arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, 5th offense, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol.

(News Release) — Lance J Falter, 68 years of age, from Iron River has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Spooner Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 5th offense.

On November 24th, 2019 at approximately 9:42 am a Trooper with the Wisconsin State Patrol made a traffic stop for a defective brake and improperly attached registration decals. The driver was identified as Lance Falter and showed signs of impairment.

A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety tests, showed Mr. Falter was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence with this being his 5th offense. Mr. Falter submitted to an evidentiary test of his blood and was incarcerated at the Bayfield County Jail.

He is being charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence 5th offense.

Pursuant to the direction of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicly, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
