Jail Time Ordered For Man Convicted Of Child Sex Crime

WASHBURN COUNTY — The Court has ordered jail time on a child sex crime conviction in Washburn County, WI.

DrydenWire.com reported in June 2018 that Eric Pfeifer, of St. Paul, MN, was facing charges of child sexual assault that allegedly occurred in Washburn County, WI in 2014 when the accused, Eric Pfeifer, of St. Paul, MN was 44 and the juvenile female victim was 9-years-old.

The criminal complaint filed against Pfeifer detailed an investigation conducted by the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation assisted by investigative documents from the Washburn County Sheriff’s Office as well as information received from the Andover, Kansas Police Department who received the original report of the alleged sexual assault.

Pfeifer was charged with Class B Felony 1st Degree Child Sex Assault - Sexual Contact with Person Under Age 13.

At a hearing on November 19, 2019, the Court sentenced Pfeifer on an amended charge of Class D Felony Child Enticement to which Pfeifer plead guilty at a hearing in September 2019.

The Court ordered 120 Days Conditional jail time for Pfeifer with 3 years of probation. The Court granted a stay of Pfeifer’s conditional jail until December 29, 2019 at 9a. The Court also granted work release for Pfeifer and he is allowed to serve his jail term in any county or jurisdiction as long as Washburn County Jail is in agreement and will not incur any costs.

Pfeifer will be required to complete a sex offender evaluation and comply with treatment recommendations as well as completing any other counseling recommended by the Department of Corrections (DOC). Pfeifer will be required to comply with sex offender registry requirements for 15 years and pay court costs as well as submitting a DNA sample.

Pfeifer is prohibited from having any contact with the victim in the case unless DOC, his therapist and the victim consent in writing. He is also prohibited from having unsupervised contact with females under 18 years of age other than his own children unless his counselor and DOC approve.
