SPOONER -- John Oscar is the recipient of AmVet of the Year award for 2017 for Spooner Post 190. Post Commander, Martin "Doc" Corrie presented the award to Oscar at a recent meeting.
"John, who is also our post vice-commander, is one of our most active members," Corrie said, " serving as our Membership Officer and the chair of our Thanksgiving Turkey dinner give away program."
The annual award is given to a post member who has provided outstanding service to fellow veterans and citizens in the community.
