RUSK COUNTY (DrydenWire) - A Rusk County case that began with allegations of a 2022 sexual assault involving a juvenile has stretched across years of court hearings, dismissed complaints, and refiled charges—culminating this fall with sentencing for one defendant and ongoing court proceedings for another.
Kyle Hankins, age 34, and Desiree Johnson, age 41, both of Ladysmith, WI, were both charged following the original investigation. The charges against Johnson were dismissed and later re-filed.
The charges against Desiree Johnson are proceeding in Rusk County Court.
Kyle Hankins has been sentenced on convictions from the case filed against him.
