BURNETT COUNTY (DrydenWire) - The Court has sentenced 42-year-old Andrew Sonnenberg on convictions from a 2024 incident in Webster, WI.

Law enforcement responded to a call for assistance after Sonnenberg allegedly initiated the incident by violating a restraining order and entering a residence forcefully. Sonnenberg allegedly armed himself with a knife and ignored officers’ repeated commands to disarm, then escalated the situation by exiting the residence and moving toward the officers, prompting one officer to fire.

The officer-involved shooting in Webster, Wisconsin, left 41-year-old Andrew Sonnenberg with non-fatal injuries. The Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation (WI DOJ/DCI) led the investigation into the shooting at the request of the St. Croix Tribal Police.

Sonnenberg was sentenced during a court hearing on August 19, 2025.
