SPOONER, WI -- AODA Prevention Specialist for Washburn County, Julie Bever, will be joining DrydenWire founder Ben Dryden and Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald on this week's "Positive Tuesday W/ Ben & Fitzy" show!
DrydenWire's "Positive Tuesday" show has partnered with Spooner Health for a new monthly segment called "Community Cares." We are working together to bring on guests that have a mission of keeping the Community Cares in all that they do.
The show is scheduled to stream live on DrydenWire's Facebook page at 8:30a on Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
About Julie Bever
Julie Bever joined Washburn County prevention efforts in August of 2020. She is the AODA Prevention Specialist for Washburn County Health and Human Services and serves as the Chair of the Community Alliance for Prevention (Coalition). Previously, she spent 6 years working with the Rusk County Youth Council and was the Director of Prevention Services for the Indianhead Community Action Agency. Earlier Julie worked within a number of school districts as a school counselor.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, Eau Claire, WI, and her Master of Science-Guidance and Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Stout, Menomonie, WI. She is planning to take the test to become a Certified Prevention Specialist this summer.
Julie is an experienced youth & community advocate focusing on youth development, substance use/abuse prevention, and mental health issues. She has presented at local and regional training, and state and national conferences on her previous work in Rusk County. She currently sits on the Northwoods Coalition Advisory Board.
While not at work, Julie keeps busy by being an advocate for her five (respite, foster, and adopted children. She loves to talk about her family’s foster to adoption journey. She strives to accept and welcome all. She identifies as an ally and a Mama Bear. For fun, she enjoys musicals, cooking, reading, and playing games of all kinds. She also enjoys dancing, DJ’ing, and geocaching.
