BURNETT COUNTY — A late-night traffic stop in Burnett County has led to serious felony drunk driving charges against a Minnesota man with a lengthy history of alcohol-related convictions.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Burnett County Circuit Court, Steven Ronning, 58, of Rochester, MN, is accused of driving while heavily intoxicated after a St. Croix Tribal Police Officer observed his vehicle repeatedly cross traffic lines and travel into the oncoming lane in the early morning hours of October 25, 2025.
Prosecutors say Ronning’s blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, and the case now moves forward as a ninth-offense operating while intoxicated charge.
