"Senator Baldwin Delivers Over $38 Million to Improve Airports in Wisconsin"

Local Airports Receive Funding For Infrastructure Upgrades

WISCONSIN -- Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) announced airports across Wisconsin will receive over $38 million in federal funding for infrastructure upgrades – including investments in runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, terminal upgrades, airport-transit connections, and roadway projects.

The funding for these projects comes from Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Grants (AIG), a program funded by the Baldwin-backed Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

“Our Wisconsin airports are vital to our economy and way of life, connecting our communities, empowering tourism, and driving our local economies,”said Senator Baldwin. “Aging infrastructure can cause delays, jeopardize passenger safety, and negatively impact our economy and that is why I am thrilled to deliver this federal funding. These resources will help our airports across the state increase efficiency, improve safety, and ensure our airports can welcome new passengers for years to come.”

In September, Senator Baldwin announced a similar investment of over $23.5 million in federal funding from the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) awarded to Appleton International, Dane County Regional, and Rhinelander-Oneida County airports, as well as the Wisconsin State Block Grant Program.
