ADRC: Looking for Folks Born in 1917 or Earlier!

Anyone born in 1917 or earlier can be honored at this years’ Centenarian Celebration, Wednesday, October 25, 2017. The celebration is sponsored by the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Barron, Rusk and Washburn counties and will be held at Glenview Assisted Living, 201 Glenview Lane, Shell Lake, WI. The program starts at 2:00 p.m., followed refreshments for our centenarians, their families and friends. Please contact the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) at 715-635-4460 if you know a centenarian we should invite as one of our honored guests, or with any questions. The ADRC can help arrange transportation but requests a family member or caregiver accompany the centenarian.

“The Centenarian Celebration is a chance to thank local residents,” said Darby Smith, ADRC Supervisor, Spooner Office. “They’ve lived through unprecedented change, and our centenarians provide wisdom, perspective and insight on the important things in life.”

The program will include a welcome, centenarian interviews, and a presentation of awards, followed by refreshments. Family and friends are welcome to attend and enjoy the celebration.

The ADRC of Barron, Rusk and Washburn Counties helps people live independently and stretch their money. Free, confidential consultations provide unbiased information about local resources for individuals ages 60 +, adults with disabilities and caregivers.
