Man Gets 28 Yrs for Involvement in Meth Trafficking Conspiracy in Sawyer Co.

SAWYER COUNTY, Wis. -- On June 21, 2017, in Sawyer County Circuit Court, the Honorable Judge John Yackel sentenced William R. Koch, age 53 of W6302 Canestorp Rd. Winter Wi. To a total of 28 years for his involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy in Sawyer County. The sentence includes 15 years of confinement in prison and 13 years of extended supervision after his release from prison. As a result of the investigation over 770 grams of methamphetamine was seized by Law Enforcement.

The investigation was conducted by the Sawyer County Sheriff's Office, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation, The Northwest Area Crim unity/Washburn County Sheriff's Office / Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the Rusk County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI. The case was prosecuted by Sawyer County Assistant District Attorney Aaron Marcoux.
