BAYFIELD COUNTY -- The Court has sentenced Jerard Cobb for operating while under the influence of controlled substances while children were in the vehicle.
Cobb was arrested in May 2021 after a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper stopped his vehicle for equipment violations on US Highway 2 near Joe Pajac Road in Bayfield County.
According to the press release from the Wisconsin State Patrol, there were 3 children in Cobb’s vehicle at the time of the traffic stop, ages 14, 11, and 4 years old.
Cobb was charged in Bayfield County Circuit Court with Misdemeanor Operate with Restricted Controlled Substance (2nd w/ Minor Pass. < 16 yrs.), and Misdemeanor Operating While Revoked (Rev due to alc/contr substance/refusal). At the time of this post, online circuit court records did not include any information regarding the results of any crime lab tests that may have been conducted regarding this case.
Online circuit court records show that Cobb appeared most recently on June 21, 2022, regarding his charges. The Hon. John Anderson accepted Cobb’s plea of Guilty to his charge of Operate with Restricted Controlled Substance (2nd w/ Minor Pass. < 16 yrs.). His remaining charge was dismissed but read in.
Judge Anderson ordered Cobb to serve 10 days of jail time (with credit for time served) and pay court costs, assessments, and fees of nearly $2,000. Cobb was also ordered to complete an AODA Assessment and follow through on all recommendations coming from that assessment.
