Man Sentenced to Prison on Felony Charges in Polk County

On June 12, 2017, Jeremy Frendt of Luck, WI received a prison sentence in Polk County Circuit Court.

Late last year, DrydenWire.com reported that Frendt was charged with Attempted Intentional Homicide and Felony Aggravated Battery and Felony Bail Jumping. A 4th count of 2nd Degree Reckless Injury was also filed against Frendt.

Public record shows that a jury found Frendt guilty on March 29, 2017, of his charges for 2nd-degree Reckless Injury and the Aggravated Battery.

The jury found Frendt not guilty of the charge of Attempted 1st degree Attempted Homicide and the charge of Felony Bail Jump was dismissed but read in for consideration in sentencing.

Public record shows that Frendt was sentenced to 5 years of confinement in Wisconsin State Prison followed by 5 years of extended supervision by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Probation & Parole. The court gave Frendt credit for 256 days served already. Frendt was also ordered to submit a DNA sample.

According to the charges filed, Frendt was operating his vehicle and accelerated in the direction of the female victim who was hiding from him between a camper and a barn. Mr. Frendt's vehicle struck the camper, trapping the victim and crushing her pelvis. Mr. Frendt also stabbed the victim, causing a large amount of blood loss. Frendt also reportedly admitted to investigators that he used methamphetamine on September 27th, 2016, the date of the incident.

Update: Court Finds Probable Cause On Polk County Man's Attempted Homicide Charges

Jeremy Frendt, of Luck, WI, appeared in Polk County Circuit Court on Friday October 7th, 2016 for charges of attempted homicide. The Court found that there is probable cause for all of Mr. Frendt's charges to proceed in Circuit Court.

Also addressed were Mr. Frent's other felony charges for Aggravated Battery, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Bail Jumping along with a charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The attempted homicide charges stem from an incident in which Mr. Frendt drove his vehicle into a camper and trapped the victim between the camper and a barn, resulting in severe injuries and blood loss. (See story below.......)

Mr. Frendt has a prior conviction for Possession of Methamphetamine and the Court took judicial notice of that conviction at the State's request.

Mr. Frendt's bail bond conditions will continue and a new court date will be set for an Arraignment Hearing on all pending charges.

The Polk County District Attorney's Office has also filed charges of Felony Aggravated Battery and Felony Bail Jumping against Mr. Frendt for the assault against the female victim.

Jeremy Frendt previously had been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in a separate Polk County Criminal Case filed on September 13th, 2016. He also has a third open Polk County Circuit Court case with another charge of felony bail bond violation.

Mr. Frendt admitted to investigators that he used methamphetamine on September 27th, 2016, the date of the incident.

On October 4th, 2016 Mr. Frendt appeared in Polk County Circuit Court and is now under conditions of $100,000 case bail bond. He is scheduled to appear again on October 7th.
