Yesterday State Representative Nick Milroy (D-South Range) presented Marie Bernatz of the Town of Scott in Burnett County with the First Responder of the Year Award for the 73rd Assembly District at a ceremony at the State Capitol.
October is First Responder Appreciation Month. The State Assembly is honoring First Responders from across the state.
“First Responders are heroes that come to our rescue at a moment’s notice,” said Milroy. “It doesn’t matter if they are in the middle of dinner, at a holiday gathering, or getting a good night’s sleep. They are on their feet and rushing to be at our side when the emergency call comes in.”
“First Responders are caring and compassionate, and I’m thrilled to honor Marie for her courage and sacrifice,” concluded Milroy. “I also want to extend my deep appreciation to all First Responders and emergency personnel for their community service.”
