Mary Hoeft Calls Upon Obama to Intercede on Enbridge Pipeline

Today, Mary Hoeft, currently challenging Sean Duffy in the Wisconsin 7th District, called upon President Obama to intercede against the construction by Enbridge of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

News Release

On Sunday, the temporary injunction against construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, on the 20-mile corridor at Lake Oahe, ended. Construction of the pipeline has begun in this corridor--where the pipeline will destroy sacred burial grounds of the Standing Rock Sioux. The pipeline threatens the water that the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe depends upon for their survival. For those reasons, I call upon President Obama to intercede immediately:

President Obama, I call upon your administration to deny permits to Enbridge to run its pipeline through Sacred Grounds and near Lake Oahe. It is crucial that Enbridge find a route for its pipeline that will not destroy a crucial water supply and sacred land.
